Students will research current trends in business start-ups, identify a current entrepreneurial opportunity of interest, create a business plan and pitch presentation. At the conclusion of this course, students will professionally present their proposed business to a panel of judges.

About the Event
This program will immerse students in the dynamic environments of traditional and social entrepreneurship. During this program students will research current trends in business start-ups, identify a current entrepreneurial opportunity of interest, create a business plan and pitch presentation. At the conclusion of this course, students will professionally present their proposed business to a panel of judges. Â A prize will be awarded to the winner of this pitch competition.Â
Overall, students in this program will:
· Explore the differences between traditional and social entrepreneurship
· Analyze current information and trends regarding entrepreneurship
· Assess examples of successful entrepreneurs
· Professionally engage with current entrepreneurs
· Gain competence with brainstorming and developing ideas for a new business
· Develop an action plan for starting a new business
· Create a business plan including SWOT analysis
· Evaluate the value of networking, planning and goal setting
· Understand Marketing essentials for new businesses
· Synthesize all learnings by preparing a presentation of their business plan and significant course material
· Professionally present their business plan to a panel of judges
· Prepare and participate in a Q&A session with judges.
